Workshop Someone to Watch Over Me
We are surveilled in multiple situations daily and have come to accept it, ignore it, or do what we can to maintain some sense of privacy and agency. Surveillance technology fights our wars and controls the lives of our populations, especially minority and poor people. This workshop will give a brief overview of the history of surveillance and highlight artists’ creative repurposing of it. We will discuss several Lo-Fi consumer image systems such as heat sensitive cameras, baby video monitors, drones and spy cams.
Free, on registration only (limited space)
Please email us at soundimageculture@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
